Review: Lipsense

Review | Lipsense Roseberry

Today I have a review on a long-lasting, waterproof, kiss- proof, smudge-proof, and budge-proof lip product. Lipsense is known for having an amazing selection of lip colors that can stay on for up to 12 hours! Also, they use nature-friendly ingredients for their products. Sounds awesome right? Continue reading my post to see my thoughts and tips on Lipsense products. I have the Roseberry color and the Glossy Gloss.

What is Lipsense?
According to their website, “LipSense is the premier product of SeneGence and is unlike any conventional lipstick, stain or color. As the original long-lasting lip color, it is waterproof, does not kiss-off, smear-off, rub-off or budge-off! Create your own color palette by combining colors from over 50 shades.”

Formula: Liquid
For the color, I usually apply 2-3 layers. I wait for about 5 seconds in between layers. If you continue to build up the color without waiting for each layer to dry, then it will not look good and have a hard time drying up. It sort of peels off, which is a no-no. As for the gloss, one layer is enough. At first, I didn’t care for the gloss, but it’s kind of necessary for topping off the color and in a way to “protect” it. As for myself, I have dry lips so the gloss is very necessary to add some moisture, or else it would feel uncomfortable. Speaking of comfort, Lipsense is not the most comfortable lip products out there. But, since the long lasting ability is really good, I can deal with that. I don’t wear makeup for 12 hours so I can’t say anything about that. However, it does last for an entire day, even after eating meals.

Tips:
*Exfoliate your lips before using the color, so it won’t be flaky.
*Apply on clean lips, that means no using lip balm or anything else.
*Don’t apply more than 3 layers on or else it can peel off.

Overall:

I do like the Lipsense products. It’s long lasting and the color is beautiful. They have more beautiful colors from their section. I think this product is great for special occasion or just going out to eat since it will stay on and no smudging. The gloss is required in my opinion. It helps with coating the actual color. The downside of this product is the price. There is nothing outrageous about the price, it just cost more than my other lippies. Another thing, I don’t like the strong scent of the color. It’s not like typically lip products. I can’t describe the scent, but it’s not perfumy. However, it does go away once you apply it on so it’s not a big deal.

Alright, so do I recommend this product? Yes, if you’re looking for a lip product that will last throughout the day without touching up. I mean everyone who wears makeup even just on occasions, can save time from touching up with this product. Oh! They also sell the “Oops! Lip color remover”. I actually didn’t buy that and removing the color is not a problem for me. I just use either my oil cleanser or waterproof makeup remover to take it off. The starter kit is $55, the color is $22, and the gloss is $20 (if I remember correctly).

Pros:
-Long lasting
-Easy to apply
-Smudgeproof, kissproof, and waterproof

Cons:
-Pricy
-Can be drying
-Strong smells

Rating: 4/5

Thank you for the review! This is my first time hearing of the brand, but they sounds great. I don’t think the price is too unreasonable for a lip stain, though I can understand the hesitation, especially if you’ve never heard of the brand before.
